I AM SO READY FOR SUMMER.
When May hits, a d r e a m y summer has officially begun for me, this year punctuated by music festivals aplenty.
All Points East
It all kicks off with Bring Me the Horizon, a band I’ve sort of grown up with. They released a new album recently which has really grown on me and I’m super excited for this. The undercard is also crazy good- I love Run the Jewels and Nothing but Thieves plus Alice Glass from Crystal Castles is playing- happy days.
Until this very second pasting this picture in, I thought the festival above was my first of the year, but I was wrong. It’s this one the weekend before. This is also part of the All Points East festival in London, with a little more eclectic a lineup for this day. I’m particularly excited for James Blake, Metronomy and Toro Y Moi.
Nos Alive
July comes round and I’m off to Lisbon for Nos Alive. I’ve been once before and loved it (loads of old posts about that so won’t get too into it!) So far the lineup isn’t to my tastes tooo much, but Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend and Jorja Smith are big redeeming features, plus there’s more to come.
Wilderness
At the beginning of August I’m off up to Oxfordshire for Wilderness which looks SO good. The campsite has a huge boating lake you can swim in, row in, do water yoga in, etc etc etc. SO exciting. Plus Bombay Bicycle Club are headlining which is amazingggg. Letters Live on The Arts stage is apparently amazing as well- you don’t know who’s going to turn up but it’s always someone amazing. Last year had Olivia Colman, and before there’s been Russel Brand and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Reading
This is a real blast from the past- I never thought I’d go back to Reading. But the temptation of The 1975 making their debut headline performance was just too much. I’m not bothering with Sunday having seen Foo Fighters before, but there’s heaps I’m excited for on the first two days. HEAPS, I tell you.
That’s my summer right there, and looking at it all laid out, it becomes obvious where my monthly wages are disappearing to.
Let me know your plans for the summer! Make sure you’re following and thanks for reading!
