My Style Evolution- Formal Wear

I recently did a My Style Evolution post, and I really enjoyed writing it, and delving through my old photos, so I thought I’d do another one, but this time with Formal Wear! I haven’t had that many occasions to wear suits so it’ll be a bit of a quicker post, but such is life.

My First Suit Experience

I was 16 years old although I look younger, and I wasn’t comfortable in a suit at all! I didn’t opt for anything flashy- simple black and black bow tie, and you can see it’s not particularly well fitting. I didn’t know what I was doing and I was happy to get the experience over and done with!

More Interest In Fashion

This was like 3/4 years ago, and at the time shirts with pattern prints were quite in fashion. I was going to a ‘summer ball’ so in keeping with the theme I decided to wear palm trees on my shirt, and keep it casual with no tie. Not my worst look, but I wouldn’t wear it now..

Slightly better still…

By now I’d learnt to pick a suit that actually fits pretty well, and this is still my first ‘designer’ suit rather than a high street brand. In price it was comparable to a Topman suit though, so I’m not showing off or anything! I still went for something a little different, with the floral tie adding a splash of colour. This is my favourite look of them all, and my hair is definitely the best in it too.

My 21st Birthday

For my 21st I bought a blazer jacket that’s slightly more casual, with elbow pads and it’s made of a thicker material (No idea what). I wore it with jeans, fully embracing the smart casual look, and I didn’t opt for anything a little bit different like I had done previously. I think what’s most obvious is that I definitely got more comfortable in a suit from age 16 to 21! I quite enjoy it now!
