A Sizzling Few Days In Palma

On a miserable February day me and a couple of friends decided we needed some sun, so after a quick search on skyscanner we found flights to Palma, Mallorca for only £22! We had no idea what to expect but what an amazing city it is! I’d been to Bilbao in Spain just over half a year before this trip, but it wasn’t a traditional Spanish city,  instead far more modern and industrial. Palma was the complete opposite. It felt so exotic and unique and everything was beautiful in the hot weather we were fortunate to have.

The city has it all! Beach, harbour, shops and endless cafes, all overlooked by the most impressive towering cathedral I’ve possibly ever seen! It was so so nice just to wander round the shaded streets whilst eating an ice cream, or drink cocktails (shout out to the classic Aperol Spritz) by the beach. I spent far too much on cocktails- I couldn’t say no!

On our third day we walked up 500 steps to Bellver castle which sits on top of a hill and has the most incredible views of the city below. Entry was only 4 euros which is very reasonable, and made for a great day trip with some great photo opportunities!

The whole trip was made as good as it was due to the sizzling sun and the good company. It was a really nice change from the cities I’ve been to so far and I’m craving a full summer holiday now and looking back, writing this, I’m absolutely buzzing to go to Lisbon very soon! Thanks for reading!!
