After arriving back from Romania on Wednesday my mind has been on one thing- travel, and so within the past few days I’ve booked another two trips…
Palma, Mallorca
At the end of next month I’m heading to one of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain to get some Spring time sun! Frankly the cold of the Netherlands is depressing, so somewhere warmer was a necessity for my next trip. It was a toss up between here and the South of France, but the idea of paella and sangria topped cheese and wine! Palma is a city with a beach, which is always a winning combination, and I’ve done my research and seen there is a very highly rated mountain trek with stunning views reachable by coach. So in the space of three days I’ll have city, beach and mountains. And sun! Perfect!!
Stockholm, Sweden
A month or so after Palma and I’m off to the home of IKEA and those delicious little meatballs. This will be my first adventure into a Scandinavian country and I’m excited! I’ve largely visited Eastern Europe so far, with a fair bit of the Lowlands (Netherlands especially) thrown in, so this should be something really different! I’ve heard the prices are pretty steep in Sweden so I’ll have to budget a bit more carefully here, but I’m sure it will be worth it. According to trip adviser their are flipping loads of museums, which is always good, and apparently the ABBA museum is well worth a visit!
Lisbon, Portugal
This trip isn’t until the end of the year, and I’m already in deep planning a little tour of Slovenia/ Croatia/ Montenegro, but that isn’t confirmed yet so I won’t write about it.. But Lisbon is! I’ve heard nothing but good things about Lisbon, and how easy it is to fall in love with the city. I’m staying just outside the city centre in Belem, which is home to the Belem Tower, a supposed must see when visiting, so that’s super convenient! I’m going to NOS Alive festival during this trip so its guaranteed to be great. I’m really looking forward to this one!
Thanks for reading!!
Palma is a great option during spring time. I’m with you on wanting to get away from the cold, rainy days and a sunny beach seems like a perfect travel destination.
